Construction quality inspection software
Construction quality inspection software for ITP, WIR and MIR control
Quality only holds up if the inspection plan, the request raised on site and the consultant's decision sit on one record. BuildRevu links every work and material inspection request to the approved inspection and test plan that governs it.
Where site quality control slips
- The approved inspection and test plan sits in a folder while site inspections are requested by phone or message.
- Nobody can show which hold points were signed off before the pour or the cover-up.
- Non-conformance reports and snags are tracked in separate spreadsheets that never close.
- Inspection requests are raised twice for the same activity and location, or missed entirely.
What quality control covers
Inspection and test plans
Build the plan per package with hold, witness, surveillance and review points, import a full ITP library from Excel, and issue it for Consultant approval.
Work inspection requests (WIR)
Raise a request straight from the governing plan activity; discipline, specification and checklist carry across, and hold points are flagged before work proceeds.
Material inspection requests (MIR)
Verify delivered material against the approved submittal, with the storage location recorded and the delivery note attached.
One open request per activity and location
Parallel requests are allowed for different zones, while duplicates on the same activity and location are blocked until the open one is decided.
Non-conformance and observation reports
NCRs and site observation reports are raised, assigned and closed with evidence, and stay linked to the record that triggered them.
Snagging and de-snagging
Raise snags between organisations, assign an owner, attach photographs and route closure through QA/QC approval.
Inspection history per plan activity
Each plan activity shows every request raised against it over time, how many passed, and the live status after each consultant decision.
Verifiable inspection records
Inspection sheets and registers export as PDF with the plan reference, item number and a QR code back to the live record.

Common questions
- What is the difference between an ITP, a WIR and an MIR?
- The inspection and test plan is the approved master plan prepared before work starts. A work inspection request calls the consultant to inspect completed workmanship, and a material inspection request verifies delivered material against the approved submittal.
- Can a checklist be required before an inspection is submitted?
- Yes. A checklist template can be attached to the plan activity and must be completed before the inspection request can be submitted.
- Does the plan update when the consultant signs off?
- Yes. An approved or approved-with-comments decision marks the plan activity as passed, and a rejection flags it for re-inspection.
